ἄ-τοπος, -ον (< τόπος), [in LXX: Jb 4:8 11:11, Pr 30:20 (24:55), al., for אָוֶן H205, etc.;] 1. out of place, not befitting. 2. marvellous, strange (of symptoms, Hipp.): Ac 28:6; hence, in late Greek, with ethical sense, 3. improper, unrighteous (so in LXX, and for exx. from π., v. M, II Th., 3:2; MM, s.v.): Lk 23:41, Ac 25:5, II Th 3:2.†
